We’re delighted to welcome Dr. Sigrid Evelyn Nikutta as Head of the Advisory Board of Alliance Critical Materials Fund(ACM), an initiative co-initiated by the CHB Group to strengthen secure and responsible critical-materials value chains across Europe.
Sigrid is a highly experienced transformation and logistics leader, most recently serving as Member of the Group Management Board for Freight Transport at Deutsche Bahn AG and CEO of DB Cargo AG, where she led a large-scale restructuring and performance improvement programme and strengthened rail freight’s role in meeting European climate targets. Before that, she was CEO and COO of Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), driving one of Europe’s leading public-transport operators through a successful turnaround and digital transformation.
She currently holds several board and trustee mandates, including Knorr-Bremse AG and the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW), and brings deep expertise across mobility, infrastructure, sustainability, and large-scale industrial operations to ACM.
As Head of the Advisory Board, Sigrid will coordinate and lead the Board’s work, supporting ACM on strategy, industrial partnerships, and engagement with key public and private stakeholders across Europe as we build a specialist platform for critical and strategic raw materials.

She will work closely with our Advisory Board members:
• Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ben Hodges – former Commanding General, U.S. Army Europe, advising on NATO alignment and defence-industrial readiness.
• Dr. Isabel Cane – international expert on critical minerals, ESG, and responsible supply chains, with senior roles including at the OECD and World Economic Forum.
• Prof. J.D. Bindenagel – former U.S. Ambassador, providing geopolitical and transatlantic policy insight.
• Anthony Ferguson – former Macquarie and Rothschild banker who built Macquarie’s global natural-resources investment-banking business.
Together with Sigrid as Head of the Advisory Board, this group will help ACM strengthen secure, responsible supply chains for the minerals and material systems underpinning energy transition, advanced manufacturing, and defence resilience.
